Budworth Juniors brave the cold!
Published 15:54 on 16 Apr 2021
On Saturday 10 April, 5 intrepid Budworth Juniors left the relative warmth of sunny Cheshire and ventured over to Pennine Sailing Club for regional open Topper training.
They arrived amidst a flurry of snow that increased such that the boats were covered by the time they were rigged and ready. Unphased and happy to see other juniors from around the north, they launched for a morning of start practise. After a quick break for lunch they were back on the water putting their Trigger-pulls into action.
Although the winds were light, it was quite a sight to see 24 Toppers vying for positions on the start line.
With the day done, it was agreed that it was worth the trip as they reflected in the warmth of the car on the way home.
I'm sure we will have some equally competitive topper sailing this weekend on our nice warm mere!
