GP14 Open Race Report
Budworth SC GP14 Open (Northern Bell series) or... Having a blast at Budworth! A very memorable day was had by all at Budworth on Sunday 1st June in what turned out to be an eventful GP14 Open Meeting. The day had been eagerly anticipated at the Mere and, with 25 boats entered, 20 of which were from the club, competition at all levels was guaranteed.

A fabulous weekend at Budworth
What a great weekend to be at Budworth. On Saturday we had a great turn out for the Saturday morning Better Sailing session, some great handicap racing in the afternoon and 14 new members (8 adults and 6 juniors) all completed their first learn to sail course. Safety Boat Day
On Saturday March 1st, 13 Budworth members took part in a very practical and enjoyable safety boat skills day. Led by Alan Jones, we were guided through best practice on how to prepare for a safety boat duty, man overboard recovery techniques, single and double handed boat recovery as well as how to recover a laser bahia when it's mast is well and truly stuck in the mud. Gybe Talk - Windsurfing and Foiling
Thanks to everyone who came to the club the other night. It was a fantastic turnout and there was lots of interest in 'taking flight' from a broad spectrum of members. Members heard how they could learn and progress with windsurfing and wing foiling at the club with videos and demonstration of equipment. Staying Alive - First Aid Course
Last weekend 11 Budworth members successfully completed an RYA First Aid Course. The course was excellently delivered by Adam Savage with lots of time to practice CPR (30 and 2 to the rhythm of Staying Alive!) among other things. This is an important course for the club to ensure our instructors, coaches and volunteers have the necessary First Aid skills should the need arise.

Gybe Talking - A Boat in a Bottle Talk
This year's Gybe Talking Series continued on Wednesday with an excellent talk from John Greenwood (former Masters Finn World Champion - twice) on sail settings and how to ensure they work optimally on our dinghies. John shared his knowledge and experience in a practical and engaging way ensuring everyone of the 50 odd attendees had something to think about and put into practice for the new season. Snipes Class at the Budworth Sailing Club Snipe Open for the SCIRA NW Championship 2024
Conditions 10-15 knots of shifty breeze most of the weekend. Gusty and shifting lake conditions made for racing where strategy and tactics were key to getting ahead so avoiding being slowed by traffic.
