Facilities
We are very lucky in having a beautiful location in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.
We have a good sized boat park right next to the club house, and a good parking-area for cars as well.
From the boat park there is an option to launch from a new slipway that gently slopes down into the water. So it's convenient and easy to launch, and to take the boats out again after racing has finished. We have three L-shaped jetties, which allow those who wish to simply tie-up after launching and between races. Much better for the two-man boats, as they don't have to come off the water between races, and the helm and crew can head straight into the club house for a cup of tea and a bite to eat from the Galley kitchen, which is usually open at weekends and Wednesday evenings.
Spring 2026 saw the re-opening of the clubroom and bar lounge areas following a major refurbishment giving members improved facilities. The bar lounge is a pleasant comfortable space where you can relax and discuss the finer points of the race after the day's sailing, before heading home.The bar is licensed and also stocks a wide range of non alcoholic drinks for those that are driving.
Budworth Mere is fed by a spring so we can sail all through any summer droughts should there ever be a drought again!!
Accommodation
Several of the two day open events will find the more hardy travelers, and home sailors alike, taking advantage of the Club's facilities by camping in the grounds. For those less hardy or possibly more serious competitors wanting a good night's sleep below are a selection of local hotels and lodges.
