The Budworth Committee met last evening, via a video conference, to debate and agree on our response to the current pandemic.
You may not be surprised to learn that we have unanimously agreed that the club is closed with immediate effect. All club activities and organised sailing has ceased until further notice and the clubhouse will not be opened during this period, nor will there be any rescue services provided.
Whilst official sailing activities are suspended, recreational sailing is permitted on the basis that it is at your own risk and you must adhere to the current government guidelines re. social distancing, etc. Please do not access the clubhouse or take a rib out nor take to the water on your own.
The current RYA guidance states that 'There may be circumstances where it is appropriate for clubs and centres to continue to allow their members to sail on their water individually or in small groups.'
Please continue to follow government guidance on hand washing and self-isolation. Do not visit the club if you have a dry cough, high temperature or flu symptoms. The coronavirus pandemic is a rapidly changing situation, and the committee will continue to monitor government guidance and will update this advice when necessary.
We all hope that this situation will be over sooner rather than later but recognise that it may go on for quite some time. If you, as a member, require assistance in any way or feel isolated then please reach out to myself or other committee members and we will do our best to provide support and assistance as needed.
Please look after yourselves,
