Budworth Easter Open Day Roundup
Published 08:13 on 29 Apr 2022
Another hugely successful open day at Budworth. We were, once again, blessed with a dry day, some sunshine and enough breeze to keep everyone entertained. Thanks to the help of our brilliant team of volunteers, over 150 members of the public took to the water and experienced sailing, many for the first time.
Whilst the fleet captains introduced their dinghy and boards classes to our visitors, the front of house team made sure all visitors were fitted with buoyancy aids to go afloat. The galley and bar teams did an excellent job laying on lunch and refreshments for the support team and our visitors throughout the day.
Once again our junior sailing section was a huge credit to the club, showing us all how to team race, whilst having loads of fun. Their joyous laughing and jumping overboard was great to see. Some of the seniors even joined in!
The club was full of smiling faces and, thanks to everyone who gave their time on the day, we are excited to welcome over 30 new members to the club, at least half of whom are learning to sail with us. What a fantastic day for the club. We look forward to seeing our new members at the club soon.
