Covid -19 Update Budworth Starts phase 2.2 of a return to sailing

With recent announcements it looks like we may be able to remove many of the restrictions from July 4th and eventually, maybe, possibly, organise racing as we know it with a galley, race officers and rib safety cover. Until then, we are looking to relax as much as possible whilst adhering to the RYA guidance as the club's insurance is dependent on our adherence.
In particular, we are conscious that the less experienced sailors have been unable to take to the water and, to address this, we will run a session each week on a Thursday evening and Saturday morning for up to 6 less experienced sailors. An experienced sailor will provide support (not safety cover) from a rib to offer supported sailing, and basic coaching to get on the water. This is not for beginners so sailors must have done a Level 1 RYA course and must be able to tack and gybe and be able to recover themselves from a capsize.
The first session will be this Thursday evening and bookings can be made through the usual channel. Club boats can also now be booked online as well via this link.
Whilst the current arrangements are working, I just need to remind you of the need to close the gate behind you when you drive in. It is astonishing how many members of the general public turn up to have a look, go fishing, have a picnic, walk around, or go for a swim and we need to maintain the habit of restricting access, especially as the weather improves. Further, please ensure that the clubhouse is locked and alarmed if you are, or likely to be, one of the last sailors on site.
