Published 20:14 on 22 May 2020

In line with government social distancing rules and following RYA guidelines, initial recreational "cruising" sailing for members will commence on Sunday the 24th May and Monday 25th May 2020.

So, we can "stay alert, control the virus and save lives" the phase one activity is limited.

  • Three sessions each of 3 hours are offered to members on each day with a limit of 10 households per session. All members intending to sail need to pre -booked on our web site events calendar.
  • All club facilities remain closed, the club house, including toilets. There is no access to rescue boats or hire boats. Sailors/Windsurfers are asked to arrive changed or change in their vehicles.
  • Without a rescue boat, ensuring your own safety is essential. All boats/ windsurfers sail entirely at their own risk and sailing is only permitted if more than one craft sails and everyone watches out for each other. Please check the weather and only launch if you are 100% confident.
  • Members must follow all current government guidelines including travel, social distancing, and hygiene advice. Members to bring their own hand sanitiser.

The Covid-19 Budworth committee shall continue to monitor the situation to provide a phased and safe return to sailing. The club shall advise member of sailing availability going forward following the initial trial.

We would ask all members who sail to read the full risk assessment and counter measures available here: Risk Assessement for Sailing at Budworth Covid 19.docx

Please enjoy the mere, stay safe and thank you for your support.
