The Laser fleet is Budworth's largest fleet with around 45 helms.

The Laser dinghy is a one-design boat that is sailed in the Olympics as well as World, European and UK National events and locally in many sailing clubs across the country. Usually sailed single-handed, it can also be sailed with a crew.

With three rig sizes (Standard, Radial and 4.7) it is versatile and suitable for both sexes and all age groups from teens upwards.

The Laser can be car-topped or trailed and, as well as club racing at Budworth, there is a Northern Grand Prix Event circuit around local clubs.
