Learn to Sail Course 5
Adult and Family Learn to Sail Course.
This course will be run over two Saturdays and will teach you the basics of rigging, launching and sailing a boat.
DATES - Saturdays - 15th and 22nd June 2019
The Learn to sail course is based on the RYA Levels 1 and 2 and is run several times a year. The course introduces you to the boat and the controls and steps you through the basic skills you need. By the end of the course, you should be able to helm a boat around a triangular course and be able to sail in light to moderate conditions.
Sailing is a sport that is dependent on the weather conditions, and so the training can vary
We run the Learn to Sail as an adult course, however if you have children over 12 years of age who you would like to learn with, this can be accommodated. We will NOT put unaccompanied children on these courses, but we do run separate Junior training (See our Junior training section).
We provide the boats and a buoyancy aid for your safety, and we can recommend suitable clothing (see Initial training clothes section). All you need to start with though is some warm man made fibre clothing with a spray top / coat and a pair of non slip trainers or boots. (Not wellingtons). As with all sports there is specialist clothing which you should look at as soon as you are confident that you are going to pursue the sport.
Trainees must be members of Budworth Sailing Club, please sign up for membership by using the Join button. If you have any problems then please email Ian Sturtivant our membership secretary firstname.lastname@example.org or Training Co-ordinator Hugh Devereux email@example.com
