The Better Sailing course is based on the RYA Levels 2 and 3 and is run several times a year. The course enhances and hones your tacking and gybing skills and enables you to optimise your course to windward as well as the five essentials, basic rules of the road, knots, sail trim, developing sailing techniques, different classes of boat.
Sailing is a sport that is dependent on the weather conditions, and so the training can vary
We run the Better sailing course as an adult course, however if you have children over 12 years of age who you would like to learn with, this can be accommodated. We will NOT put unaccompanied children on these courses, but we do run separate Junior training (See our Junior training section).
We provide the boats and a buoyancy aid for your safety, and we can recommend suitable clothing (see Initial training clothes section). By this point you have probably worked out your clothing choices, but as it is an evening course, it can get chilly. As with all sports there is specialist clothing which you should look at as soon as you are confident that you are going to pursue the sport.
Trainees must be members of Budworth Sailing Club, please sign up for membership using the website. If you have any problems then please email Mark Philpott our membership secretary firstname.lastname@example.org or Training Co-ordinator Hugh Devereux email@example.com
