Open Day – Saturday 7th May
A big thanks to all the volunteers on the Open Day. The Club looked fantastic and with all the activity on the lake, Budworth looked at its best. It was a hot day and we had volunteers standing in the hot sun all day directing cars, showing off boats and delivering hot and cold snacks to our visitors. We had many events on the water including; training from our resident trainer – Chris Hill, Sailing joy rides, coaching sessions, racing, windsurfing etc. I was particularly impressed with the amount of volunteers and their effort. I was immensely proud of the club and its members that day. I have never seen the club so busy and splendid – The net result is that we have 22 new members and counting. There are too many people to thank in this email but we know who you are and we are extremely grateful (some can be seen in the picture below). I would however say a special thanks to Hugh Devereux who organised the day. He spent a great deal of time planning the event and was very busy on the day.
Mark Cleary arranged for a Cheshire Life photographer to attend and he took some great shots, which will hopefully hit the next edition. In addition, Bill organised for Gordon Spruce to be out on the water taking photos for our use. They are lovely and can be viewed at; https://flic.kr/s/aHskyY4aTJ
Please feel free to download the photos and use them yourself – Gordon has allowed us to do this FOC and in fact he encourages us to do so! You have to sign up to Flickr (sharing photo’s site) to download the photos but that only takes a few minutes and is well worth it.

Push the Boat Out – Friday 20th May
We have another event coordinated through the RYA for visitors/members. We will be having an additional Friday Cruising session on this date where visitors are welcome. This is a lower key event and will be an ideal opportunity to have a barbeque and the normal Friday Cruising activities. Please come down as normal anyway and enjoy the evening. If you fancy helping with perhaps a boat to take people out on the evening, please let John Waind know at; bsctraining@budworthsc.org.uk

We have a few places left on the ‘Better Sailing course – 16 May to 13 June’ – contact John above for more info.
