This Sunday is the last in the Icebreaker series – It is forecast to be windy, which is quite a contrast to the last two weekends, which have been light. Come down and enjoy the wind. Prize giving will be after the last race – all to play for with lasers holding the first three places currently, closely followed by Ted in his Solo and Steve in his Firefly. Main Points starts on Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd and 3rd April. Looking a little further ahead, midweek sailing starts on Tuesday 19th April (Raceboards) and Wednesday 20th April (dinghies).
Learn to Sail
This is a call out to Guardians of junior members, if you are interested in learning to sail so you can enjoy the sport along with your children, why not take advantage of our Adult learn to sail course that starts on the 9th April and runs for 4 Saturdays. If you have children of eight and above that you would like to join in the course, they can join the course too.
For more info see the website under training, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The club has a number of club boats that are available for new members to hire. We seem to have an on-going problem with parts being “borrowed” from these boats and not returned. If we are to make the boats available to new members, they have to be serviceable. PLEASE DO NOT use the club boats as your local store for the forgotten bung, trolley wheel or block. This is theft and last year this cost the club a considerable sum and more to the point, leaves new members without boats to sail and creates work for the fleet captain. If a club member is seen borrowing, then please do challenge them.
On the 7th April, Chris Hearn will be running a session on the Race management system. This is a regular yearly course and is always really informative and helpful if you are an ARO or PRO, but it is open to everyone and covers the basics as well, including signing in and getting your results!
Most fleet captains (including Saturday and Wednesday) send out their own email updates. These keep fleet members up to date with fleet events and coordinate turnouts for racing. However, identifying who belongs to which circulation list can be difficult, especially for crews. If you would like to be included in a fleet’s regular email shot, contact the relevant fleet captain – their email addresses are at http://budworthsc.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/:
Bill Kenyon – Wednesday

Alison Hutton spent some time cleaning up litter at the club during the working parties. She was very pleased to get rid of all the old tape and litter but was a little dismayed last weekend to see that it had already begun to appear in the boat park again. Please remember to take your litter to the bins inside or outside the clubhouse – thanks.
See you on the water soon.
